Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Hopin. Please read section 2 — it explains what Hopin is and, just as importantly, what it is not.

Effective 6 August 2026

1. Accepting these terms

By creating a Hopin account or using the Hopin app or website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.

2. What Hopin is

Hopin is a marketplace, not a transport company. We connect private individuals who are already driving between cities with passengers travelling the same way. We do not own vehicles, do not employ drivers, do not operate a fleet, and are not a carrier, taxi service or public transport operator.

The transport itself is an arrangement between the driver and the passenger. Hopin provides the introduction, the price calculation and the record of the booking. The driver decides whether to accept a request; the passenger decides which ride to request. Neither is our employee or agent.

3. Payment

Payment is made in cash, directly from the passenger to the driver, in the car. Hopin does not process, hold, transmit or refund any money. We charge no booking fee and take no commission from the fare.

The per-seat amount shown in the app is calculated from the trip distance, the driver's verified fuel mileage, the current petrol price, and any motorway toll the driver includes, divided by the number of seats offered. A driver may set a price below this calculated amount, to a floor of 50% of it. A driver may never charge above the calculated amount, and the system rejects any attempt to do so.

Because we do not handle payment, we cannot refund a fare, reverse a payment, or arbitrate a payment dispute. Passengers should carry the correct amount.

4. Driver verification and its limits

Before a driver can post a ride, we review their CNIC, driving licence and vehicle registration, speak to them by phone, meet them in person, confirm their identity and vehicle against the documents, and measure the vehicle's fuel mileage ourselves.

This verification has limits and you should understand them. It confirms that a specific person owns and drives a specific vehicle and that their documents are consistent. It is not a criminal background check, a driving-record audit, a mechanical safety inspection, or a guarantee of how that person will behave on any given trip. It is a check performed at a point in time; circumstances can change afterwards.

Use your own judgement. Ratings, reviews and the women-only option exist to help you make it.

5. Booking, approval and cancellation

These are the rules the app actually enforces:

There is currently no cancellation penalty or fee. Repeated late cancellation is nonetheless a reason for us to suspend an account under section 8.

6. Reviews and ratings

After a completed ride, the driver and each approved passenger may review one another. The review window opens when the ride ends and closes 48 hours later. Reviews are final once submitted and cannot be edited or withdrawn. Rides that were cancelled, or that were never marked complete, cannot be reviewed.

Reviews must describe your genuine experience of that trip. We may remove a review that contains abuse, personal information about a third party, or content unrelated to the ride.

7. Your obligations

You agree that you will not:

Drivers are responsible for holding valid vehicle insurance and for complying with Pakistani traffic and vehicle law. Hopin does not provide insurance of any kind, for either party.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we reasonably believe presents a safety risk, or that has provided false verification information. A suspended driver cannot post rides or sign in. A driver whose application is rejected may reapply after 30 days.

You may stop using Hopin at any time and can request account deletion under the privacy policy.

9. Service availability

Hopin is provided "as is" and "as available". We are a small team running a beta service; features may change, routes may open or close, and the service may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. The app is currently free to use, and we may introduce charges in future with notice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Pakistani law, Hopin is not liable for loss, injury, damage or expense arising out of a journey arranged through the platform, including the conduct of a driver or passenger, the condition or roadworthiness of a vehicle, a road traffic accident, a delay, a cancellation, lost property, or a dispute about payment made directly between users.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for fraud.

11. Safety

In an emergency, contact the police (15) or Rescue 1122 first — not us. Every user sets an emergency contact during signup. Share your trip details with someone you trust before you travel, and tell us about any safety concern at support@hopin.pk.

12. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the service develops. The effective date above reflects the current version. Where a change materially affects your rights we will notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Hopin after that means you accept the revised terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of Hopin.
